Highlights from NRF 2020

This year’s National Retail Federation’s (NRF) Show, the biggest retail conference in the world, drew in nearly 40,000 people from 99 countries. Taking place at the Javits Convention Center in New York City, the theme for this year’s three-day event was 20/20 vision. The show was action-packed and today we're going to share the main highlights from NRF.

Executives from the likes of Microsoft, Macy’s, Kohl’s, L’Oreal and Crate & Barrel, as well as numerous up-and-coming brands, took to the stage to share their thoughts on the future of retail. (Inside Retail).

Exhibiting for the 3rd straight year, OptConnect was well represented with a big presence on the tradeshow. Since most of our products are installed in machines that are placed in third-party retail locations, this particular show allows us to reach many of the different markets we are in. From ATMs to kiosks and everything in between, we provide a robust and hassle-free connectivity solution that stood out at the show. Exhibiting at the show also gave us insight into many of the new retail trends taking the market by storm.

According to Total Retail, the top three trends at this year's NRF show were: the need for retailers to implement diversity and inclusion initiatives, an increased focus from brands on sustainability and e-commerce; and the continued digital transformation happening within the industry.

Here’s what some of our sales team had to say about this year’s show.

“NRF has become tremendously valuable to us as an organization. There have never been so many partners at a single trade show. Each year our meetings become more meaningful as we continue to expand relationships and help partners build out connectivity strategies." - Matt Warner, Director of Channel Management

"This show is very important for us because it covers all the markets we serve. This year's show was great and had a large turnout. We do well at these kinds of shows because we play a pivotal role in keeping mission-critical hardware connected and serving its primary function." - Stefan Tapia, National Sales Manager

"NRF has consistently provided an excellent platform for companies from all around the world to showcase the latest products, innovations, and tech, which also allows retailers and vendors alike to converge in NYC and plan for the future. Whether we're connecting ATMs, Kiosks, Smart Safes, in-store signage, or other equipment, OptConnect will continue to be a major part of retail for years to come." - Andrew DeLaMare, Director of Key Accounts

NRF is a great place to meet customers and network with future customers. We have found the face-to-face meetings provide valuable insight into our customer's current and future needs. NRF has been invaluable in identifying the correct contacts to work with, and we have built strong partnerships with companies we first met at NRF." - Micah Larsen, National Sales Manager

As the retail space continues to adopt new technologies and push customer experiences to incredible new places, OptConnect remains focused on providing strong and reliable connectivity that companies rely on to make it all happen.
